American Heart Association Spring Babysitting Course 2026

American Heart Association Training Course

The purpose of this course is to provide youth, or anyone age 12 or older the information and skills necessary to prove safe and responsible care for children in the absence of parents or guardians.
This training will help participants develop skills in.....
-Childcare Basics - feeding, diapering, play time, bedtime routines, and first aid
-How to handle an Emergency and Fire safety
-Infant/Child/Adult CPR =+ Heimlich Maneuver

Participants are not certified in AED & CPR or first aid but are introduced to the concepts. Students are encouraged to register for and American Heart Association First Aid, CPR and AED course to be trained in these skills.

*Please keep in mind that positive and respectful behavior must be maintained at all times so that the instructor is confident that the student is mature enough to participate in the class. Parents will be notified if the child is unable to participate as expected.

North Star Dek Hockey- Summer 2026

 Don't miss out on this fantastic program where kids learn the fundamentals of Dek Hockey! Located at the Dek Hockey Rink in Richland Park, players as young as four years old will have a blast learning the game!
 
Dates: June 23rd- August 13th
 
Age Groups: 4-6, 7-9, 10-12 and 13-15
 
League Fee: $79.99
 
Jersey Fee if Needed: $40

Games will occur during the week Tues-Thurs with the age
level schedule as follows:
 
Tuesdays ages 4-6 from 6-7PM
Wednesdays ages 7-9 from 6-7PM
Thursdays ages 10-12 from 6-7PM
Thursdays ages 13-15 from 7-8PM
 
Register no later than June 16th to avoid a $10 late fee.

There is a $5 fee on all cancellations!

EQUIPMENT NEEDED- Shin pads. Shin pad coverage runs from the top of the knee down the shin. Worn on outside Elbow pads. Hockey stick. Any hockey (style stick is okay (ice, roller, floor or dek). Helmet with a cage for facial coverage. Hockey gloves. Protective cup

Calling all young readers and future wizards! Join us for a Saturday Read Aloud Hour designed for kids ages 7–13 who love stories, creativity, and a little imagination.

🧙 Ages: 7–13 years old
⏰ Time: 10:00–11:00 AM

During this fun and relaxed hour, participants will enjoy:

  • 📚 Story Time: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Pages 1–60)
  • 🍫 Snack Time: Chocolate‑covered pretzel rods, popcorn, and fruit snacks
  • ✍️ Creative Choices: Free drawing, word searches, or bookmark making
  • 💵 Cost: $5 per child

This program encourages a love of reading while giving kids the chance to unwind, be creative, and engage with the story in a welcoming environment.

Join us for a fun and cozy Saturday Read Aloud Hour designed especially for our youngest readers and their families! This interactive hour encourages a love of books, creativity, and together time.

👶 Ages: Birth–6 years old
⏰ Time: 9:00–10:00 AM
👪 Parents can drop-off in the reading area but are asked to stay in the building or you can stay with your child.

Reading session includes:
  • 📖 Story Time: The Lorax by Dr. Seuss
  • 🍿 Snack Time: Multi‑colored popcorn, Goldfish, and fruit snacks
  • 🎨 Craft Activity: Create your own Truffula Tree using paper plates

This gentle, engaging program is perfect for little ones to listen, imagine, and create in a welcoming environment.

The goal of the Preschool Program is to encourage social, physical and cognitive development through thoughtful and purposeful interactions. The Creative Curriculum and Handwriting Without Tears are integrated to establish developmentally appropriate learning goals. Intentional teaching practices engage students in dynamic classroom experiences helping them naturally expand their knowledge and skills. Playful, active learning is critical for healthy brain development.
We understand that toilet training is a unique process for each child and strive to support your efforts. Students do not need to be fully toilet trained to participate in the Preschool Program.

K-Prep (4 years old before September 2026)

Through project-based learning, engaging classroom centers and teacher directed activities K-Prep students are encouraged to practice physical, academic and social skills. The Creative Curriculum and Handwriting Without Tears are integrated to establish developmentally appropriate learning goals. We encourage critical thinking skills while expanding on knowledge in the key areas of math, science and literacy. Students build a strong foundation of learning skills and leave Kindergarten ready!
